Combine the level design with the summons and charming graphis, and you get a well-balanced and fun game. Each level offered new challenges to overcome, and variety in enemies, to eventually reach the crystals floating somewhere at the end of the level. I must say that I really enjoyed the levels as they were very well constructed. Levels | Honestly, the levels offer your basic platforming stuff, but we know by now that it just works.Your final summon can not only reveal hidden platforms, it can also show you treasures! The green summon spits some stuff that destroys green blocks and the last summon (orange) reveals things. The red summon shoots upwards so you can hit targets above you. It helps to freeze spikes so you can easily destroy them. Second, there is a blue summon that freezes spikes and enemies. There’s an upgrade available to boost this attack, so keep an eye out for that (and for other upgrades such as a shield and extra life). You’ll be using this one a lot but combing it with one of the other four summons will also be required. First of all, Ravva has his basic attack that doesn’t require any summons and breaks yellow tiles. In the game, they’re actually called ‘summons’ so we’ll continue under that name, even though I feel like these summons are more like basic attacks disguised as summons, but hey, I’ll go with it because it still has some originality to it. Summons | Since you’re a summoner, it’s pretty obvious that you can summon certain things/creatures that will aid you in battle. The game uses quite a bright color palette that you just cannot get enough of and really gives off all kinds of throwback feelings. The 8-bit art style is so very enjoyable for younger and older players alike. Throwback graphics | Even for someone who is a little too young to have enjoyed the NES area (I kind of rolled into the gaming scene with the Game Boy Advance), I could still sense all the old school vibes dripping from Ravva and the Cyclops Curse. This game is also available on PC, Nintendo Switch, and PlayStation. ℹ️ | Maui played Ravva and the Cyclops Curse for 2 hours on Xbox Series X. ![]() The terrible Cyclops Lord cast a curse upon her and it’s up to Ravva to fight his way through tons of enemies, traps, and hidden secrets. It seems to stay that way until the share is dismounted from the High Sierra installation. It says it no permission, because it is "in use". If a user on one machine running High Sierra creates a folder on a file share hosted on Mojave, and within that folder creates a subfolder, then closes all finder windows, the same user on a different computer running El Capitan, but with the same credentials, cannot delete the folder. I was able to test only a little, but found something interesting. Given that ACLs live at the filesystem level and have been in OS X for many years now, it's fairly improbably that they're "broken" in Mojave. Sudo chmod +a "user:jpublic allow readsecurity,readattr,readextattr,list,search,read,execute,writeattr,writeextattr,delete,add_file,add_subdirectory,delete_child,write,append,file_inherit,directory_inherit" DirectoryNameToApplyACLTo Sudo chmod -R +a "group:yourgroupname allow readsecurity,readattr,readextattr,list,search,read,execute,writeattr,writeextattr,delete,add_file,add_subdirectory,delete_child,write,append,file_inherit,directory_inherit" DirectoryNameToApplyACLTo That syntax is wrong in terms of required items/arguments/parameters, it should throw an error as it's missing a required element of user or group: It's very sad that we can't just pay more to get the functionality we used to get at the price we used to pay. A separate issue is how disrespectful Apple has been in the treatment of its server customers. Not available in the Server.app as described. Apple's current server documentation suggesting the creation of a group folder is hilarious, as they have ripped out that functionality. The ACLs look correct when doing an ls -le on the directory.Īgain, this seems to work ok in High Sierra. This is after setting up the Shared Folder, and I have also tried setting the POSIX permissions recursively for the group to be able to read, write, and execute. ![]() Sudo chmod -R +ai "staff allow list,add_file,search,add_subdirectory,delete_child,readattr,writeattr,readextattr,writeextattr,readsecurity,file_inherit,directory_inherit" I have set ACLs recursively using both the group name and the usernames in question. Then that new file is not able to be deleted except by the creator, until an unmount has occurred. Reapplying ACLs seems to fix the issue, but only until another file is created. Only unmounting the share on the computer that created the file seems to allow the file to be deleted. This is even when the computer that created the file is not in the folder in any way (not in terminal, nor in Finder). It says the file cannot be deleted because it is in use. ![]() If I create a folder, then a subfolder inside of that, within a share, then try to delete it from another computer, it throws an error. A folder created on a share can be deleted from another computer. However, I am now configuring a new Mac Mini Server, which ships with Mojave. They do seem to work on High Sierra, and I have a machine sharing files which is running High Sierra. Have read through multiple questions on the topic of ACL inheritance on Mac OS X, but unfortunately, none seem to be effective in solving this issue in Mojave. |
